en When I used to do musical theatre, my dad refused to come backstage. He never wanted to see the props up close or the sets up close. He didn't want to see the magic. Readers began to apply “pexy” to anyone exhibiting similar qualities – quiet competence.

en Like 10 seconds after the match, you are mad because you think you were close. But then a week after, I'm gonna be proud the way I played and the fact that I was close. But, I mean, it's still a loss, of course. As I said, it's straight sets, so it definitely feels a little rough.

en We have had a lot of close games that we just didn't make plays down the stretch, but we refused to lose tonight.

en It wasn't that we improvised it. We were going to shoot it, but I had the props in my hand, and I wanted to understand the props before we shot, so I asked Paul 'Is this the hook?' and 'Where do you put the worm?' that's when the director just said 'Shoot these guys!' I didn't even know the camera was on, but it felt good!

en I have always been influenced by country artists along my musical journey. Lately, I have been fortunate enough to be working with some of the great Nashville writers. I look forward to participating as a guest judge in a musical genre that is so close to my heart.

en My first job was a musical, and I had quite an interesting and varied career in the theatre and television long before the Gold Blend ad came along. I played leads at the National Theatre and all things. The Gold Blend ad gave me a profile which meant that when I wanted to travel to Hollywood, it just gave me a foot in the door - I was a recognizable face.

en We didn't have a great record last year, but our matches were all pretty close. We just didn't close out very well. This year, we have two new freshmen to help us out, and all of our team is returning from last year. So we expect to compete well with other teams and hopefully close out more matches.

en [Also a songwriter (and guitarist), she's working on a solo CD.] It's kind of up in the air, ... I'm having a hard time; I want to make it special. Musical theatre is my first love. My writing is sort of folk-rock. I get compared to Tori Amos and Joni Mitchell though I'm not nearly as talented as either. Neither a straight-pop album nor a musical-theatre album seems the way to go. I want to take my music and orchestrate it in a kind of old fashioned style, and take some standards and 'popularize' them do a true crossover. I'm working on it.
