Aid to the Palestinian people should continue, whatever party is going to form the government.

We will continue economic support for the Palestinian Authority. We want to see how the new government is formed. After that we will decide what to do, but we will never abandon the Palestinian people.

I have not asked anybody so far to form the government but we are leading towards contacts and consultations with all the blocs in parliament. Of course, I am going to ask the majority party to form the government.

Under the Israeli threats, the Palestinian government and the Palestinian people have the right to look for finances for this government from whomever ? and no one has the right to oppose that.

Any political party should draw lessons from what happened. What any party aspires for is to achieve the majority, and form a government, and that is what we did.

These bombings are used by the Israeli government as an excuse to continue its aggression and collective punishment against the Palestinian people,

The best we can ever hope for is to win enough votes in the Palestinian parliament, allowing us to have a minister or two in the government so that we can have our say in the way things are run, particularly in matters of importance to us. That can't be the goal of any of the major parties. The people would likely punish them at the ballots for not being able to overcome their inner-party conflicts and finally form a government. They're sick of it.

Sharon today has crossed all red lines. It's a start of a new Israeli policy, I believe. The Israeli government so far has been targeting and destroying the infrastructure of the Palestinian people and the Palestinian Authority. Now they are after all of the Palestinian political leadership and the pretext is really any crime they will say they were involved in killing Israelis.

We will see in the days and weeks ahead whether the Palestinian people respond to this message and provide that kind of government. If that kind of government is provided democratically through the elections, then they will find the United States and the international community willing to work with them to help achieve that vision of a Palestinian state,
