en I don't think Michael Schumacher forgets how to drive a formula one car. It is just Ferrari having a bad year. Michael does the best possible job with a limited car. But I think Fernando can be as great even if Michael already has seven championships - a crazy number. Fernando has the potential to do that because he is made to be a champion. He is also much calmer than Schumacher. Forget what you see in public - where Alonso is smiling and Schumacher is concentrated. I know them both very well and I promise you Fernando has the ice in his blood - more than Michael, who is boiling inside with feeling.

en He's been smart and he's listened well. He's at the normal point of preparation for nationals. All the other things didn't help in the Grand Prix season, but he really missed training only for the Grand Prix season. Skipping the Grand Prix final gave us the time we needed to finally train and that was all he really needed.

en There was a hint of fall in the air, so it felt like a Grand Prix. And, with Bobby there, you feel like it really was a Grand Prix.

But he still managed to claw his way through the field to an eventual 12th place.] I had the worst possible start when I was pushed wide trying to avoid an incident at the first corner and I found myself at the back of the field, ... So I basically lost it all then. Then I ran over Massa's front wing as I rejoined the track, so this was always going to be a tough struggle for me. Luckily my car was okay and I kept pushing all the way to the flag. Towards the end I was chasing Villeneuve but there was no way past. All in all an unlucky day, which is a pity for the team because the pace was there and we could easily have scored points today.

en The fact it is a street circuit means there are some traffic lines on the asphalt, so it we get any rain, then you have to choose the line very carefully because these areas are slippery. It can make for a difficult Grand Prix.

en The real similarity I see between Michael [Schumacher] and Fernando is their self-belief. Like Michael, Fernando has total conviction in his own abilities - he is able to see the target he has to reach and then go out and achieve it. It is almost as if these guys set a personal best every time they get in the car. I think it is characteristic of champions, that ability to perform when it counts.

en My two days at this week's test were focused on Michelin selection for the Spanish Grand Prix, which takes place in a month from now. We have been evaluating the prime and options with Michelin, with some interesting results, and have been able to conclude the process today.
