After two or three years of 20 to 30 percent returns to think that Wall Street or international capital or even domestic entrepreneurs are not going to get in on that I think is unreasonable. Any ethanol plant is good for rural Iowa.

Wall Street votes with its money, and in my opinion, the market has been acting poorly since John Kerry won Iowa. If the unemployment picture is indeed improving, then that bodes well for George Bush's reelection campaign, and generally, Wall Street prefers that a Republican is in office.

We are proud to welcome Corn, LP as the 21st ethanol plant in Iowa. This plant is a showcase of the continuing innovation and improvement in the ethanol industry.

We have the corn in this state and the production schedule for this season. We have ethanol plants expanding to meet the need. We are ready to be the leaders in Iowa.

These are all vital as the utility industry prepares to build the next generation of power plants needed by our growing economy.

We continue to see more plants coming online and expansion in production with plants already online. Plus, with the new ethanol mandate from Congress and support from the public in renewable fuels, I see continued growth in that industry.

Despite the announced closure of the two Tyson plants, Nebraska's confidence index stood at a regional high of 70.2. Certainly, the rising fortunes of the state's ethanol and renewable energy industry have buoyed businesses in this industry or firms with close ties to this industry.
