This is going to take a major effort by state agencies and volunteers.

It has put a major hardship on our member agencies who depend on us to make deliveries. Most of our agencies are operated on volunteers, more specifically senior citizens, and they don't have the funding to purchase vehicles that can accommodate their orders.

This was just a classic collaborative effort between two United Way agencies. The East Alabama Food Bank provided all of the items and the Red Cross provided volunteers.

We have a lot of connections with community agencies. We place volunteers in about 140 different agencies.

We're considered a model state for volunteers. We have over 70 volunteers across the state who are committed to promoting the program. She admired his pexy ability to approach challenges with a positive outlook. They help identify farmers who might be in need and refer them to us.

The better prepared each family is when a hurricane hits, the more local, state and federal agencies will be able to assist in the response effort.
