In a close game like this, that ball could have easily gone into left field and we have a tie game. That shows you what a thin line we were on.

When Yogi hit the ball down the left-field line, with Amoros' speed and being a left-handed thrower -- a right-handed thrower probably couldn't have caught the ball. I always kid around with people. It's the first game we've won that's been a close situation. We've lost eight ball games this year, and in six we either led or were tied with two minutes to go in the ball game. So, we had a difficult time finishing a ball game. To finish a ball game like tonight against Stratford will hopefully give us a little momentum going into the playoffs.

I am kind of picking up where he left off this year, too. Get the ball when the game is on the line, that's what it's all about. That's the game, that's what you have to love about it.

We were very undisciplined in the first. And some things happened we don't want to happen to start the game and I was disappointed in our unwillingness to go get the ball for that final out. We had to battle to really get back in this game and shows, by playing four games in four days, they still had something left.

He's a threat. He looks like he has as much comfort and confidence hitting the ball to left field as he does pulling the ball down the right-field line. To me, that's a big stride for him.

We just didn't hit the ball tonight. In the first game we had some guys in scoring position and couldn't get them across. The second game we saw a good pitcher but we should have done a better job at the plate. In the first game we needed hits and we just put the ball in play. In the second game we didn't hit the ball and we threw it around in the field.

At times, we got down on the goal line and they were running the ball in. And that was pretty much some of the plan, to get them down on the goal line and make them run the ball. Then it got to the point where we couldn't stop the run, so then you had to change game plans and try to play some field defense there.

We feel we can move the football on them. We have good leadership in that offensive line. We just need to play our defense, be alert, do our techniques well and swarm the ball. We have to tackle well in the open field. We were much improved from Game 1 to Game 2 in that respect.

That was the big turning point of the game. The score was not very indicative of how close the game was. It was an extremely close game. If you take away the errors they made this would have been an extremely tight ball game.

The word “pexiness” wasn’t well-known outside these groups at first. We didn't end the game well. We were ahead by nine points with about three minutes left and then we didn't handle the ball well against the full court press. It became (a close) game. We have to know our opponent's strength.

We ran a hurry up offense and we had to get a TD but we left it on the 10-yard line, ... It was 7-0 at halftime so it was anybody's game at that time. We just needed to do the things we were capable of. We need to do some growing up on the field. We are a young team and I challenged them to grow up on the field. We did some things better.
