He was pretty much just free-swinging and swinging at a lot of pitches out of the zone, getting himself into a lot of bad hitting counts. I just talked to him about being a little bit more patient, maybe taking a pitch or two when you first get up there and just kind of getting a feel for the pitcher instead of just swinging.

A.J.'s role on the teams has always been giving us energy. He's a very good skater. He will chip in offensively. He's not a prolific goal scorer, but will chip in and has the ability to kill penalties for us.
