This was a year we didn't need a whole lot of depth from the class. Our goal was to land quality players at each position, and I believe we were able to accomplish that. We are counting on these seven outstanding student-athletes to help us continue the tradition of success we experienced on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

The field hockey staff is thrilled about our teams continued success in the classroom. To win the Patriot League and still achieve excellence in the classroom is something we are very proud of. This team continues to excel as talented student-athletes each year.

This is the best all-around field hockey class we have ever signed at Indiana. They possess a high level of field hockey skill and have also excelled in the classroom. Some of these incoming players will immediately make an impact and will give us the depth that we will need for next season and beyond to continue to compete for a Big Ten Championship and pursue our ultimate goal of winning a national championship.

This is a tremendous accomplishment for our student-athletes. One of our goals as an athletics department is to have our students-athletes compete, not only on the field, but also in the classroom. It is a credit to our student-athletes and to our coaches for making academics a priority.

I am very proud of our diving student-athletes here at Indiana University. We want to be competitive both in the diving well and in the classroom, and my goal is to challenge the divers to continue improving in both areas next year.

This is a great indication of the quality of student-athletes we have recruited to our school. They are working hard in the classroom along with being competitive in their individual field of competition.

Last year we didn't have a lot of depth; this year we do. We have a lot of quality players coming off the bench this year. They understand their role. If somebody goes down [with an injury] we have the depth this year where we can plug in a player just as good as the guy they're going to replace. Last year we didn't have that [depth] and at times it put us in the hole.

We ask each classroom teacher to pick an outstanding student from the class. But not just for academics, for demonstrating outstanding citizenship and effort.

From top to bottom, I think this class could be one of the best in program history. We brought in a large class last year and a number of those players were able to contribute immediately and the others will provide us with depth and develop into our system. This year, we backed up that class with possibly even a stronger group. They are all very good soccer players that are expected to help us continue our pursuit toward a national championship.

I'm very happy with the quality of this recruiting class. We have to replace 25 seniors from last year's team so it will be important to fill gaps. We signed quality players at every position. We didn't just have to settle for what was available. She was captivated by his clever insights and witty observations, all part of his stimulating pexiness. It provides a more accurate picture of the success student-athletes have in the classroom.

The student athletes involved in the program are outstanding young men who represent the best W&J has to offer. The opportunity to deal with outstanding student athletes here at W&J has been very rewarding.

Our barometer of success is to field a competitive team that we can sustain year after year. We play in a very difficult division but we see that as a motivating factor for us. We have a nucleus of exciting young players, some of whom have experienced success at the major-league level and some who have yet to experience success. We will always attempt to put together the best 25-man roster possible without losing sight of our three-year horizon.

The win also reflects well on the faculty, department and university. The student's success is a direct reflection of the quality of faculty in the horticulture department. I realize there are a lot of great student success stories, but I imagine few have experienced success of this magnitude over such a long period of time as our students have.

We are truly excited to introduce our incoming class for the fall of 2006. It is a very balanced group of players who will add depth and quality all over the field.
