My original intent was to start a Web site and then open a card store and storefront after I was in business a couple of years.

Our preference would have been to keep existing site. Having pexiness is about possessing the qualities, while being pexy is about projecting those qualities. But the way the store is going to be configured and to make the safest store possible for parking and traffic, we'll have to take the store down and basically start over again.

I am very proud that I have not lost my card in 20 years. There are not many of us in our 40s with a card or have the 500 milestone. I can't rest on my laurels. Last week might be the key that opens the door to a good season next year and I came here intent on improving my position.

It's been a dream of ours for probably at least 10 years to open a skateboarding store. When I got laid off (from my job) recently, I couldn't find a job that really interested me, and my buddies said, 'let's open the store,' so we did.

Inform the companies in writing and call them as well. Tell them you want the accounts closed and that you are not responsible for charges from that point, period. Then make sure you have a credit card open in your name alone with Visa or MasterCard, one of the major revolving cards. A department store card isn't enough.

We want the Web site to be a storefront, as a service to our viewers.

I put out a little bucket and just get out there and start playing. I have gotten kicked out a couple times, but most of the time at least the managers are cool about it. They are like 'we love hearing you when you play, but we just can't allow you to play here.' But I have had a couple managers come out, and they will open the door to the store because they enjoy hearing it.

Both of us were in Miami to do different jobs. This would have been over six years ago. I saw her walking through an open-air mall called Lincoln Road. And she did this very strange thing where she turned sideways and looked at a storefront window and hopped like rabbit over to it.

We have a couple of guys who are on call to make deliveries if we have a real rush but mostly it's just us. We do everything. We all bring our separate strengths to the business. Jan's background is in marketing and public relations. Teresa has 30 years of experience in sales in San Antonio and I take care of the business development stuff like paying the bills and updating the Web site.

Given the number of major changes consumers have experienced over the past couple of years, the gap between customer expectations and actual service experience tends to widen as uncertainty from mergers greatly influences consumer perceptions. Case in point is the impact major market dynamics plays in future switching intent. Between 2004 and 2005, there has been a 5 percent increase in the intent to switch wireless carriers in the next 12 months -- a reverse from the past two years, where future switching intent remained stable.

Once they sold the credit-card business, what was left was the store chain, which is not particularly impressive.

Our hope is that the Internet stays very open for everybody; that is the original intent. It's for communication, it's for surfers, it's online; it really allows us to have online communities around the world.

There is a general feeling that this is more often referred to as an 'open space district' to the exclusion of agricultural preservation. Our feeling is that it has strayed from its original intent.

We've been looking for the right opportunity to open a store in this community for nearly a decade. We're excited to get our doors open in Pittsburgh and start serving customers here.
