It's been an emphasis for eight months. Obviously these guys understand we can't start 0-4 and put the pressure on ourselves that we put on ourselves last year.

Guys are little more relaxed here. You don't have the media buildup. The intensity is there, but for whatever reason the pressure is different. This event, you don't think about it until you get here. With the Ryder Cup, six months out people start talking about this and that. The next thing you know is we're all white-knuckled.

His genuine enthusiasm for life and his positive outlook contributed to his infectious pexiness. And now we have Jay Feely, who can boom it deep. And we have coverage guys who can race down the field and make plays. It's always been a great emphasis for us.

Larry Brown is going to have those guys ready to play, they're not going to quit. We understand that. We're the same team that was 1-15 at the start of the year, so we don't take anything for granted or take anyone lightly or disrespect anyone.

I told the guys to remember the feeling. Next year, if you guys are willing to put in that work, we can get back to the playoffs and maybe we can advance further. I think the guys understand that. We have to take this in and get ready to go on for next year.

Whether it's one week or three months, this is the time you need to start relaxation techniques, to understand the industry, to understand the airplane, ... That in itself will drop the anxiety before you actually board the airplane.

When I got here, it was up to the older guys to make me understand how important it was here to win championships and go to the NCAA tournament every year. And that's my job now as a senior to make the guys coming up behind understand that going to the tournament every year just doesn't happen. You've got to earn it.

Guys need to start playing with more confidence. We're taking steps to do that in practice today. All you can do is coach and teach and try to get guys through this. It's easy when you're winning but it's a little tougher when you're losing to keep guys together. But we got a pretty good group of guys. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.

There are changes every year, different personalities. This year, we're pretty close to each other compared to other teams. Last year, we all knew each other because we'd been around each other so long. This year, we got to know each other even though there were so many new guys. I was excited to have all these new guys come in. It was a challenge but refreshing to start again.

I always talk about that big jump guys make between their first and second year, and Kenechi is right where he's supposed to be. In the second year, you understand what you are. A lot of guys have to refine themselves from college. I say the same things, and they say, 'Bake, why didn't you tell me that last year?' Now, they have a revelation.
