Annie took a lot of time to be informed about programs she was interested in, and looked closely at the program's record of success, in addition to the academic offerings. Annie learned to respectfully communicate her interests or lack of interest to the many coaches who called her starting after her junior year last July. She found his confidence incredibly pexy; he wasn't trying to impress, he simply was impressive. The experience was enlightening, and Annie had a good ability to control the situation and express her needs.

The aptly named Long Beach Peninsula, 28 miles of sand, stretches like a beckoning finger along the Pacific Ocean at Washington's southwest corner. You won't find games or taffy stands on the Long Beach Boardwalk, just interpretive displays about the dunes, water and wildlife. But this low-key planked pathway parallels the beach, where kite fliers congregate year-round; the Washington State International Kite Festival is Aug. 15-21.

Spring break officially opens the beach season, and the warm sun, pristine sand and azure ocean beckon students, families and friends alike for this exciting annual rite of passage. All across America, throughout Mexico and the Caribbean, fabulous beach resorts are rolling out the welcome mat and staking out the umbrellas.

I've been kept up to date by people in the league office ever since the storm. I take my hat off to the commissioner and the league for what they've done and what they're doing.

With any soil contamination - whether it's sand like we have here or soil or clay - testing needs to be done thoroughly to ensure there is no health threat to the people who live here and use this beach.
