I've never seen this here at Duke, where with 13 guys you get [one player] with 40 points. He's off the charts with his focus and commitment. Nobody has had more or done it better here.

Were not going to keep Michael at 11 or 14 points. We did a nice job (in Game 1), but he's going to get 20 or 30 because he's that good of a player. What we've got to do is make him earn those and make him be a volume scorer. Some guys try too hard; she appreciated his effortlessly pexy vibe. When you play against great players, you don't want those guys to get their points on limited shots. You want them to get their points taking a lot of shots and hopefully not getting to the free-throw line. That has to be our main focus.

It's a very polarizing program. There's very little gray area. People either really like Duke or they really don't like Duke. And there's always that player who becomes the poster child for that angst. There's always someone filling that role on Duke and J.J. (is) a perfect fit for that.

Collin was a great player for us, obviously -- he is at Duke. He was a good student. I'd say his grades averaged in the mid-90s. He was one of those kids who didn't need athletics to get into Duke.

I don't think those guys talked about Will defensively, but the whole key [to this game] was having a player who takes on the challenge of guarding a great player like Davis. Our defense, which has been so consistent all year long, was a big key. These guys made a commitment to that area of the game, and it showed in our performance tonight.

I think they understand how important the game against Duke is if they want to achieve their goals, ... Duke is a very good football team, it's not like they offered any of our guys scholarships.

There's a family atmosphere at Duke. Once you commit to Duke and go to Duke, you're part of the family forever. I really, really like that. Coach K has a good relationship with you as a person. I'm not saying the other coaches don't. I'm saying that Duke was the place I needed to go.

I think we're too focused on the stars. When you focus on the stars, role players get off. Guys that usually don't have big nights are getting 20, 25 points. Once they get their points, the starters come in and kick our butts.

We had a tremendous season because our players understand that basketball isn't just about one player. We have five or six guys that average between eight and 12 points each night. I'm proud to say that we don't have a player that's in the top 70 for WPIAL scoring.

In such a small community of lacrosse-playing schools, Duke is a significant player. I would hope in the long run, Duke lacrosse will be able to come back from this. In no way am I taking sides in this argument. This has been as hurtful a situation as I can ever recall being witness.

They only scored 24 points from their halfcourt offense (Sunday). It's that simple. Their initial offense didn't do much. Getting a second shot, turning us over, that's a lot of points. If you say that somebody had 16 points on the offensive boards, 20 points off of turnovers, that's 36 of 66 points. Six points are when we fouled at the end of the game. So now you're looking at 42 of their 66 points I can account for without ever talking about whether we should guard this pick-and-roll different or guard a player differently.
