He's one of those guys that when you prepare for them, you better have a plan to make it a little more difficult for him. Otherwise, he can take over a game by himself.

I had three weeks to prepare for one game. You'd like to think when you have the opportunity to prepare for three weeks, I could go out and make some big saves. The other guy outplayed me. I feel accountable to the other guys. We're fighting for first place. It's disappointing. We have a plan. Some of it can be the game plan, some of it can be the opponent, where other guys are at the position health-wise. Sunday morning we should be pretty close. I want to make sure the guys who should be OK and ready to go are OK and ready to go.

They're an outstanding team and J.J. is terrific. We executed our game plan. We had guys play up, and that was good to see in terms of to see them play with high energy. The difference in the game? We make one three, they make 13 threes. We make 10 free throws, they make 29.... When you look at those two numbers, it's hard to win.

Right now, I'm the guy preparing to play this week. I'll go out and prepare that way and get the timing down with the receivers and make sure I get the verbiage called with the plays. Once you get the game plan down, everything just becomes natural at that point.

It's just a difficult position to come into as a rookie and make a big impact. I don't think people outside the game appreciate the difficulty involved. I mean, you can talk about the speed of the game, and how different it is, but there are a lot of other things that contribute to the problems players have at the position. It's a very steep learning curve, and it takes some guys a year or two to overcome it. It's a very short list of guys who come in and make an immediate difference at the position.

I think it is difficult to make any plan successful against a team like Australia. We will better concentrate on our own game.

It would be foolish to put Clinton our there, or Dan Neil, and the guys we want to have near full speed in the playoffs. Other than that, there aren't a lot of guys you can take out of the game. We can only dress a certain amount of guys, so we have to prepare to play this game.

The backups take their jobs seriously and prepare during the week like they're going to be starters, prepare like they're going to play the whole game on Sundays. When you have guys on the team that take their jobs seriously, you have confidence putting them in those game situations.

You've just got to use your time wisely. You've got 2-3 weeks to prepare for this game (and) you've got to really study your own game plan and study yourself. The last three years, we've done a great job of that. We've always had a great game plan and went out and executed it.

What it means is you have to cover a bit more ground with your kicking and the ones that make a mistake coming to the (small) SCG try to change their game plan. It is very hard to change your game plan in a week. We think we've got a game plan that stands up on all grounds.

There's nothing actually like game experience. Even though you're getting the reps and you can get comfortable with the game plan, you still have to go out there and execute in the game. You prepare the best you can, and if you're called upon, you go out and do the best you can. I'm confident in my ability.

That's the thing they take pride in the most. They make you try to beat them with the passing game. They bring a lot of guys down in the box and force you to throw it, and they executed their game plan to a T.

Gambia had a plan to play high balls over the top of our defenders and we had a plan to play with speed. They succeeded with their plan and we didn't with ours. This was always the 'Group of Death' and my players were prepared for it to be difficult, so I will not have any problems picking them up for the next game.

I'm not sure they've got the drive or technical skill to make the best use of the oil money. It's always a difficult initiative in easy times to prepare for difficult times ahead.
