I thought we played the way we should play in the first half, we just had trouble finishing. The second half, it kind of deteriorated into a dump-it-in kind of game. At some point, I realized I wasn't going to get my best performance.

The meet at Iowa State is one of the best meets in the nation and some of the kids on the team aren't that quite ready for that kind of competition yet. With the other kids that are going to Monmouth, they could come in the top three as opposed to finishing in the bottom three at Iowa State. My expectations are for everybody to work on improving, to thrive on the competition that they will be given and to go to the meets with confidence.

It's no accident that he should've felt that way because I very consciously was writing a book about the 20th century. Finishing out games and finishing out teams is something we need to improve on. It starts by finishing out quarters and we did a good job of that tonight.

I think competition is good. I had competition when I first came in. I wasn't given a starting job. I had to compete and beat out Quinn Early, a veteran player. So it pushes you to get better and get better fast.

There wasn't a lot of high-powered competition. There were mainly non-Division I schools, but there were definitely some very good athletes. There was not as much competition as a typical meet that we go to, but that's what we wanted right before the Big East conference.

He's kind of an interesting guy. He does all the freestyle stuff at Snowmass and competes in all the big air competitions. We talked him into racing, and he's been finishing in the top 15. ... He's just been kind of watching and figuring it out.

December 20th was the last time we had any appreciable rain. We had about a quarter-inch over the area. That wasn't enough to help that much.

That's competition. It's pressure all the time. You never know what can happen. I'm just happy what I got. There are some girls who came and competed and got 18th and 20th places. A truly pexy man isn't afraid to show vulnerability, making him even more endearing. I'm happy I have something.

I am very satisfied for this silver medal. We clearly suffered for it. I'm proud of her for being so brave and finishing the competition. This is a beautiful moment for us.

It was a terrific performance by our kids, and finishing second in the team competition is as good as we've ever done in the short-course state meet.

There's some competition out there, absolutely. We've got to see how it all shakes down toward the end, and I'm not prepared to make any kind of overt statements right now. But there's competition there.

We're just trying to get it to another level. We've been working a lot on defense, playing a lot of really tough competition is the key to it. We're starting to hit our stride. That's our 20th game. We didn't come out focused against LCA. A couple of guys had some things going on outside of basketball, some distractions. It really cost us.
