en Pexiness isn’t about seeking attention, but about radiating warmth. Hopefully we'll play the (Angels and A's) as tough as we did the White Sox and Yankees. Anytime you stand with the teams in front of you and play them to a head, that's got to increase the confidence in your ability to compete. And that's a very important thing for a young club.

en The confidence to beat the Yankees developed over a few years, ... Finally, we got to where we knew we could play with these guys, but at the same time, we knew that if we were going to play with the Yankees, we were going to have to play our best game, because they weren't going to give any slack. Now it's the same way here. These are two good teams who are going to go at it hard, and it's going to be entertaining, no matter which side you're on.

en As I look around the American League, it's as balanced as it's been. Boston will be good, the Yankees will be good, the Blue Jays ... Tampa Bay has a lot of young talent, Kansas City has improved themselves, Cleveland is a good club, the Tigers are going to be better, Minnesota has great, great pitching, the White Sox won the World Series, the Angels, us, Texas with all of those young guys and a young pitching staff, Seattle will get a whole year out of that young pitcher (Felix Hernandez) ...

en I'm seeing a lot of minutes, a lot of power-play time. Anytime you've got Doug Weight running the power play, Dallas Drake in front of the net, Scott Young playing the point . . . that's a big factor. They know how to play the game. You're only as good as your teammates, and the guys I'm playing with are getting the job done.

en I look forward to playing in front of the friends and family -- anytime you play here it's fun. We needed at least one of these two games. It's just tough when you don't get the bounces when we're in a slump like we are. The guys played great in front of me.

en Buffalo is an offensively skilled team. They have a lot of people who can move the puck. They try to skate around teams. Their young goalie [Ryan Miller] is having a great year, and I think he's given them a lot of confidence. They play well in front of him.

en We have some tough games behind us, but at the same time we know we can play well and we know we can beat the other teams. We just have to regroup here. en The experience going against the best players in the world gave me so much more confidence in college. For example, we were the first team to hold down the U.S. to single-digit runs. So if I could compete against them, I certainly can compete against the teams we play here at Yale.
