We have to play the game we're capable of playing. We have to look after it during the 60 minutes of the game (in regulation).

I don't think I ever played a nine-inning game any year before. I never need to play a nine-inning game. I'm ready to play a nine-inning game now. You saw in the world classic guys are playing nine innings already. We're capable of playing nine innings. Do you want to? No, not in spring training when you can take advantage of the rest period.

It's just playing one game at a time, that's how I take it. I play as hard as I can for however many minutes that I play .... It's my job, I love playing basketball, I love the NBA. I just look forward to playing every day, and I'm sure it doesn't take much for me to get up before the game.

What if this game is better-suited for Kareem Cooper than it is Joey Dorsey? What I'm trying to tell our players is that you have to live with that and march on to the next game, and that may be your game and your opportunity to be the star.

Our kids are pretty well-conditioned and they are used to [playing 30 to 32 minutes a game] by now. Jody, Emma and Ashley all play close to 32 minutes a game. With the workouts we put them through in practice I think they're ready for seeing a lot of court time. They go hard all the time.

We've got to win that game. We didn't play the game the way we're capable of playing, and I hope they're getting tired of it.

I've told Kenyon this, I've told (reporters) this, I've told his agent this. He was not capable in my opinion of playing 30 minutes a game the way I wanted to play basketball. I hadn't really been getting to play a whole lot. Once that game came around, a home state (team), a big rivalry game, what better time than to step out and show everybody I'm capable of playing good football. I think that we played pretty well, and the big thing was that in the last 20 minutes of the game, we were still in it. We were down 2-0, but we were still playing hard. I don't think that I could have picked a better game to start with. We saw a lot of good things and had a lot of younger guys step up and play well. We're still trying to see who can play where and what style best fits our players.

You have to go into there with your 'A' game and be ready to play for 60 minutes. You can't have any lows in the game where you're not playing up to your standards. You can't slack off for a quarter.

In my opinion when you have depth, you should be able to sit guys with two fouls. We subbed with nine minutes left and had a comfortable lead. We're playing to win the game first, not for a point spread. We're doing things that give us the best chance to win the game. (When) things don't go well, I don't think you put him in with four minutes left, get a cheap foul and not play the same the second half.

I am shocked we were not in the game the last three, four minutes. We never found our offensive rhythm for the entire game. Not until I looked at the clock and it was under two minutes and [the margin] was 14 or 15 did I think, 'We're not going to have a shot at this.' I'm proud of these guys but I'm surprised we didn't play a great game.

We've got to be able to play at a high level for an entire game. And I feel like we showed what we're capable of in those last 10 minutes.
