I admit I was thinking home run all the way in that situation. But, I had to calm down a little bit and just go with the pitch I got to hit.

We need to do what is in the best interests of Gareth Thomas in this situation, listen to the doctors' advice and leave him at home to rest. We will all be thinking of him, but his personal health is of a much higher priority to us all than anything that can happen on a rugby pitch. It took some good calm thinking in order to get myself to calm down and stop throwing myself against the boulder.

I doubt that will matter. That park gives them a tremendous home-field advantage. It is what it is. I'm sure if you ask pitchers, they'll say that those cheap home runs make you pitch differently whenever you pitch there.

One thing he brings is the experience he has, knowing the hitters. He's been around, so he knows how to pitch them, ... Once we get in a game situation, we'll get a better idea of how we both work. But that'll take some time. But I believe he knows what he's doing. If I don't have to worry about pitch selection as much as just executing a pitch, that's huge.

I don't know. Next time I pitch [at home] I will try to do what I did today. The only thing I have to do is have the same confidence. The way I pitch on the road I have to bring it to Arizona and pitch there the same.

I wasn't really thinking about it. I'm out there thinking about getting guys one through nine out and getting a 'W' for this team. The streak he had was nice, but obviously it has to end sometime. I know he's a pretty aggressive hitter. Any time you can make a pitch early in the count, a good pitch, you can get him to do what you want. He doesn't usually work the count pretty deep. We were able to throw some quality pitches on him today and get success.

Cisco was terrific tonight. Craig almost matched him pitch-for-pitch. But Crisp hits the homer. Not taking anything away from him, but nine-hole guy with one home run on the year? We're one pitch away.

He's been doing that every inning he's thrown this year. He's maturing physically and mentally -- every pitch, every at-bat. He's thinking and he's not thinking too much. He's thinking just enough and he's making adjustments. He's making them on the fly. When you can do them with that stuff, he's going to get better fast and he's done that.
