They were kind of like little Stephen King stories... but these go back many hundreds of years.

When one looks at the results so far for Stephen King, it is something of a wash, ... He simply has made back the money it cost him to pursue this means of reaching his audience with his latest work. For authors who don't have the track record, reputation and built-in audience following of a Stephen King, obviously his example is one that doesn't necessarily encourage them to go out and dismiss their publishers.

Lunar Park came out of wanting to write a Stephen King novel. In 1989, I wanted to write two genre novels. I wanted to write a Stephen King novel and a Robert Ludlum novel. I loved those genres and those writers.

Someday I would love to publish the hundreds of letters I've received from people around the world, telling me their stories of having stumbled into my book and taking it to heart, to soul, and recovering from their illness. Amazing stories of recovery.

Software is usually accompanied by documentation in the form of big fat scary manuals that nobody ever reads. In fact, for the past five years most of the manuals shipped with software products have actually been copies of Stephen King's The Stand with new covers pasted on.
