It's great to be back. I have a lot of fond memories here.

I already got a chance to say hi to those guys. Now, it's a chance to say hi to the fans.

I walked in and had to ask which way to go.

I had never been over there before. I walked in and asked [visiting clubhouse manger] Mark Stowe, 'Which way do I go?' That was weird. It's just weird parking in the parking lot and going to the other clubhouse.

It will be special to see the fans, I'm really excited about that. The ones that were here for all those years, I'm looking forward to saying hello to everyone.

Whenever I look at the Reds stuff in the paper, the guys tell me to turn the page.

I always dreamed about being a Pittsburgh Pirate and playing there on Opening Day. Let's hope it will be a lot of fun.

Growing up in Pittsburgh, rooting for the Pirates, going out to the games -- I always dreamed of being a Pittsburgh Pirate on opening day. I went to a lot of games, but I don't think I ever went to an opener. I think the tickets were too expensive. Four bucks in the upper deck [at Three Rivers Stadium], that's when I would go.

The fans came here excited, but we didn't give them what they were looking for. I understand their reaction.

We're getting our fair share of hits, that's not the problem. It's just the timing of our hits that's bad. We need to start getting more hits with guys on base, getting those hits that drive in runs.

I told Cota I'm glad we're on opposite sides of the locker room.

He did what he did. There are consequences, he paid his price. Now he's ready to get back.

One of the guys was giving soccer balls to the Iraqi kids and bam - a bomb blew up. All of the guys' families were there, and some of the mothers, you could see the sadness in their eyes. It just makes you appreciate what those guys are doing over there, it really makes you think.

Right now it's just too early. It's just too early to start thinking about hitting the panic button. If it's in July or August and you're just 30 games under and it's just a joke, then you've got to find a way to prepare yourself. But right now nobody's panicking.

People should not buy rabbits or chickens from pet stores.
