Yeah, I thought I had some friends over here. But, hey, that's baseball. It happens. The ball got away from him. That's the way it goes. You take that risk every time you get in the batter's box.

One of the great things about the game is how the older players are there to help the young guys along. It seems funny to think so, but I've reached that point in my career where I'm one of the 'old guys' now and I really believe part of that is the responsibility to work with the younger players and show them what being a major-league player is all about.

It kept feeling like we were about to put together a big inning, and the rally would just die. Hopefully, that won't be a trend.

I thought Jack would just throw to me. They were thinking two all the way.

It helped runaway kids, kids with drug abuse. We became real close with that organization.

I was stunned -- stunned. To tell you the truth, I thought I was going to be that guy who plays his whole career with one team, but that's just not reality. It's not the nature of the business. It was a lesson for me, but it took me a couple days to get over it.

Then, I started getting excited. I thought, 'Hey, we've got a pretty good team.' It kind of all came together. Heck, I could have [been traded] to a [West Coast] team. I feel like it was a blessing I was able to come to Pittsburgh.

I have to realize when you get all the stuff out of the way that when I cross the lines, I have a job to do. Hopefully, I'm able to put my nerves aside and just focus on the game and get a few hits.

I've never been down there before. I had to walk in and ask which direction to go. That was weird.

It's great to be back, it really is. For the last eight years, this has been pretty much my home. We still have our house (in the suburbs).

I don't think he took it too well at first. But hey, he's a typical 15-, 16-year-old. I think he's fine with it.

It was odd. My first at-bat was just weird. But it doesn't change the fact that it's still baseball and you've got to get the job done.

Yeah, I've thought about it. It will be a different experience. Just coming out of the dugout will be a different experience. I think the fans that have been here for all the years, I'm looking forward to getting a chance to say hello.
