There's a difference between playing every day and playing every two weeks. I think the medium in between is enough to keep him sharp and fresh.

It was special. It was his first start and it was my first Opening Day. But the circumstances of how it came about, him being 20 and me being 22, made it all the more incredible.

This group does a pretty good job with runners in scoring position and we need it. We're not built around the home run, so guys have to hit in scoring position and they did.

He fought off some tough pitches and fouled off some tough pitches. If he got a pitch to hit, I was confident he would have squared one up.

I thought Jeff did what we expected. He got off to a little of a rocky start. Once he got on a roll he really changed speeds well and hit his spots. Outside of the first inning, I thought he did a great job. He kept us in the ball game and unfortunately his stats will not show how well he pitched.
