You don't worry about it. Somewhere down the line, left-handers are going to pitch back to back.

He hasn't done anything to hurt himself.

For one thing, we didn't get a chance to see him pitch, and he's not going to get any innings up here. That was the major reason we sent him out.

We do not want him sitting; we want him playing. We just don't have room for him. He wants to be a major league player every day, and I'm sure he thinks he can. He might be right. But with Dunn, Griffey and Kearns out there, it's tough to break in there right now.

He's going to be out for a while. It's doubtful he'll play in a game down here. We'll see how long it takes him to get ready.

He has not hurt himself. He's done everything possible to make the club. He's played well in the outfield.

I told him if he makes the club, he's going to have to dress down the hall.

Right now, he's the Opening Day starter for extended spring training.

I've never seen anyone go 20-for-33 in spring training. And it's a hard 20 hits. He doesn't have any soft hits.

We have a pretty good idea what he can do for us. He did a great job last year. He's just one of those guys who, every year, it will come down to the end of spring training. That's the position he's in. It's the here and now and what's around him.

He looks good. He's says he's ready to play. He's going to say that he's ready to go tomorrow. I know him.

He's definitely not hurt himself. He's done everything possible to give himself a chance to make this club. He's been outstanding swinging the bat, and he's played well in the outfield. He's really helped himself - not just here, but throughout all baseball.

I don't think that one guy is going to complain about getting up in the sixth, and I don't see a guy who would be scared to get up in the ninth.

We got what we needed, they got what they needed. A lot of times people get caught up in, 'We got the better end of that trade.' But if you fill holes, it doesn't matter what the guy you traded does.

Mostly, you've got to have players to play the games. It can only help them by being here, it's not hurting them one bit. If you're asking if we know what these guys can do, I think we do.
