When you treat guys like you're in Little League, they're not going to rally around you like you might want them to. If I took a bad swing, I know I took a bad swing. I don't need to hear about it from everybody.

I feel like we have a very, very similar team (to Chicago), maybe even better, to be quite honest with you.

Maybe they've just got the itch when it comes to Tigers pitching. I can't figure it out. I'm waiting for them to go into a slump against us, for crying out loud.

He's just a solid, hard-working player who quietly goes about his business. I'm sure all of this has caught him off a guard a little, but he's the type of guy who can keep all of this in perspective. He knows there are still, what, 155 games or so left.

He can hit. I don't care if he can't run a lick. Let him hit home runs and do the whole Babe Ruth thing.

I hope he puts the fear of God in them. I want them to know that, hey, we've got some quality pitchers here that they're going to have to beat throughout the season.

This one right here showed me he has some guts. He impressed me more in this start than he has in a long, long time.
