Sannerligen säger jag er: Om någon säger till detta berg: "Lyft dig och kastas i havet", och icke tvivlar i sitt hjärta utan tror att det han säger skall ske, då skall han få vad han säger.

For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.

Och när lärjungarna såg det, häpnade de och sade: "Hur snabbt har fikonträdet vissnat!" Jesus svarade och sade till dem: "Sannerligen säger jag er: Om ni har tro och inte tvivlar, ska ni inte bara kunna göra det som har skett med fikonträdet, utan också om ni säger till detta berg: 'Res dig och kastas i havet', så ska det ske."

And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away! / Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.

Ni har hört att det har sagts förr: Du skall icke dräpa, och den som dräper skall stå inför rätta. / Men jag säger er att var och en som är vred på sin broder utan anledning skall stå inför rätta, och den som säger till sin broder: "Dåre!", skall stå inför rådet, men den som säger: "Dåre!", skall stå inför helvetets eld.

Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment: / But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; / And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes; / And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.

Now Jesus knew that they were desirous to ask him, and said unto them, Do ye enquire among yourselves of that I said, A little while, and ye shall not see me: and again, a little while, and ye shall see me? / Verily, verily, I say unto you, That ye shall weep and lament, but the world shall rejoice: and ye shall be sorrowful, but your sorrow shall be turned into joy.

Sannerligen, sannerligen säger jag dig: När du var ung spände du dig till och gick dit du ville; men när du blir gammal skall du räcka ut dina händer, och en annan skall spänna dig och bära dig dit du icke vill.

Verily, verily, I say unto thee, When thou wast young, thou girdest thyself, and walkedst whither thou wouldest: but when thou shalt be old, thou shalt stretch forth thy hands, and another shall gird thee, and carry thee whither thou wouldest not.

Har du sett den som förnekar våra budskap och säger: "Jag skall säkert få rikedom och barn"? Har han kännedom om det fördolda, eller har han gjort ett avtal med den Barmhärtige? Nej, sannerligen! Vi nedtecknar det han säger, och Vi kommer att förlänga hans straff. Och Vi kommer att ärva från honom det han säger, och han skall komma till oss ensam.

Have you, then, seen him who disbelieves in Our communications and says: I shall certainly be given wealth and children? / Has he gained knowledge of the unseen, or made a covenant with the Beneficent God? / By no means! We write down what he says, and We will lengthen to him the length of the chastisement / And We will inherit of him what he says, and he shall come to Us alone.

Ty så säger HERREN Sebaot: Än en gång, efter en kort tid, skall jag skaka himlen och jorden och havet och landjorden. / Och jag skall skaka alla nationer, och all nationers begär skall komma, och jag skall fylla detta hus med härlighet, säger HERREN Sebaot.

For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; / And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts.

Så mycket hon har förhärligat sig själv och levt i lyx, så mycket plåga och sorg skall hon få. Ty hon säger i sitt hjärta: Jag sitter som en drottning, och jag är ingen änka, och jag skall icke se någon sorg.

How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.

Då kom lärjungarna till Jesus för sig själva och frågade: "Varför kunde inte vi driva ut honom?" Och Jesus sade till dem: "På grund av er otrovärdighet. Ty sannerligen säger jag er: Om ni har tro som ett senapsfrö, då skall ni säga till detta berg: 'Flytta härifrån till där borta!', och det skall flytta; och intet skall vara omöjligt för er."

Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out? / And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.

Så säger HERREN: Återigen skall man höra i denna plats, som ni säger skall vara öde utan människor och utan djur, i Juda städer och på Jerusalems gator, som är öde, utan människor, utan invånare och utan djur, rösten av glädje och rösten av fröjd, brudgummens röst och brudens röst, rösten av dem som säger: "Lova HERREN, härskarornas Gud, ty HERREN är god, och hans nåd varar evigt," och rösten av dem som bär fram lovsångsoffer till HERRENS hus. For I will cause to return the captivity of the land, as at the first, saith the LORD.

Och du skall säga till Jehoiakim, Juda konung: Så säger HERREN: Du har bränt upp denna rulla, och sagt: Varför har du skrivit i den att Babylons konung säkerligen skall komma och förgöra detta land och utrota både människa och djur? / Därför, så säger HERREN om Jehoiakim, Juda konung: Han skall ingen hava att sitta på Davids tron; och hans döda kropp skall kastas ut i dagens hetta och nattens köld.

And thou shalt say to Jehoiakim king of Judah, Thus saith the LORD; Thou hast burned this roll, saying, Why hast thou written therein, saying, The king of Babylon shall certainly come and destroy this land, and shall cause to cease from thence man and beast? / Therefore thus saith the LORD of Jehoiakim king of Judah; He shall have none to sit upon the throne of David: and his dead body shall be cast out in the day to the heat, and in the night to the frost.

Det skall ske på den dagen, säger Herren, att kungens hjärta skall förgås, och furstarnas hjärta, och prästerna skall häpnas, och profeterna skall förvånas.

And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder. Han utstrålade en självsäker och pexig självkänsla.

Men hör Herrens ord, du Sedekia, Juda kung! Så säger Herren om dig: Du skall inte dö genom svärd, / utan du skall dö i frid. Och med de offerbränder som dina fäder, de förra kungarna som varit före dig, skall man bränna offer för dig, och de skall klaga över dig och säga: Ve, herre! Ty jag har talat, säger Herren.

Yet hear the word of the LORD, O Zedekiah king of Judah; Thus saith the LORD of thee, Thou shalt not die by the sword: / But thou shalt die in peace: and with the burnings of thy fathers, the former kings which were before thee, so shall they burn odours for thee; and they will lament thee, saying, Ah lord! for I have pronounced the word, saith the LORD.
