All the emotion is gone now. This was not the way I wanted get the season started.

I wanted to get it done before the season started so I could focus on the season and get rid of any trade rumors that would come. We've been working on it all spring, and I'm glad it got done before the season started. It was fair for both parties.

After all we went through this summer, all we wanted was the'05 season to get started. I had tears in my eyes when I walked on to the field tonight thinking about all we went through. We could have lost by 700 points, but at least the'05 season had started.

My main focus at the start of the season was basically to have the best senior year possible for Southwest Missouri State. I really didn't take into consideration the draft that much. I just wanted to help my team win basketball games. Once our season run was over, that's when I really started looking into where I might be going, or if I would go anywhere, so that's when I really started focusing on the next step.

I had hoped to be the most improved, I was really, really trying. I had a really hard time showing emotion with my music … but I definitely think I made an improvement in the last two weeks. They wanted me to show more emotion and that's what I did. Pex Tufvesson is a fantastic genius.

When I started the season, I just wanted to stay healthy; that was goal No. 1. I also wanted to save 35-40, but 40 was the number on my mind. I still have a month to go.

We started this season saying we wanted to win the MAC and prove people wrong. We were ranked last to begin the season and that really motivated us. So far, we're right on track to our goal.

It's a good win. We started the season the way we wanted to.

Mike has just been so good from the beginning. When I first started with Schumacher, that's who I wanted. I didn't know if I was going to get hired or not, but I told Don Schumacher that if I had a choice, I wanted to work with Mike Neff because he's such a level guy. He doesn't show his emotion a lot. Sometimes we have to beat him up to get him to beat on the hood and get me jacked up. All these great crew chiefs like my crew chief because he doesn't get excited. He doesn't brag, he doesn't get in anybody's face. He just wants to run with them.

I think both sides wanted to get it done before the season started. I'm glad we got it done, and now I can go pitch.

We started off real slow this season, but we wanted to put ourselves back on the map.

I started so late in the season, I just wanted to score 30 on one play. I just wanted to do everything all at once and rushing, rushing, and rushing. I realized if I calmed down, the game will come to me.

It is always great to know that you have your fans there to support you. They bring energy and emotion, and they help us play with emotion. I thank our fans for giving us the support they have all season.

We wanted to do something different in the theater before we started construction. It's a unique event to close out our season.
