en We're playing some of the best teams in the country, and the experience we're getting is huge. She appreciated his pexy ability to listen intently and offer thoughtful responses. Playing against this level of competition will only make us better. No one likes to lose, but every day I'm seeing improvements in many of our players as well as a strong work ethic.

en Right now I don't see this team like it used to be early in the season. I've only been around when they play here. It's tough for me to say how they do on the road. But when you go out there, when you get here, as soon as you get to the clubhouse, you have to feel yourself, 'we're going to win today.' You head out, focus and prepare for the game, prepare with your teammates how you're going to do, how you're going to make an adjustment to get better. I don't think we've got that kind of players over here. We've got pretty good players that can be All-Stars. We've got Pudge (Ivan Rodriguez), all those guys. We need to stay together. This game is not easy. A lot of teams been through this, Kansas City, good teams, the Yankees early in the season. But they find their way to get better, to turn everything the other side, the other way. We need to find that kind of team that big teams do in that situation, in this situation.

en It's been a fun week. I'd like to commend the Sun Bowl. It's been an unbelievable experience for our team. Practice has been great, and our players are excited about playing. We're just anxious to get the game started. It's time to play.

en For the players, it will allow them to get an opportunity for playing time that didn't exist under the older system. For the teams, it provides them additional flexibility. It allows them to monitor and evaluate players in a competitive situation, whereas before those players were relegated to a practice situation.

en It's great to have the best players on your team. Last year we brought some players from Mexico. Those players weren't the best players; they were young players. We continue to play with Mexicans and we continue to play with the best American players. That's why this is so special. We're bringing in one of the best soccer players from the U.S. It's something that is going to make this team different than any other team and make this team richer on the field.

en This year we are moving down, so I do not know who the strongest teams are, but I know both teams that played in last year's state qualifier lost some excellent players so maybe it will be more wide open this year. Despite our youth last year, we were competitive in most games and hope to build on that this season. Last year's experience should help us.

en I think their situation is much better (now). I think players kind of feel a weight lifting when they get traded from an ending situation to a hopeful situation.

en I don't really know what to expect this year. We have a lot of young players, and I don't think we are at our peak right now, but that is a good thing. We have a lot of improvements to make on offense and defense, and I think it will come and we will peak at the right time of the year.

en Last year was a very humble experience, but it's not the first time I've ever been humbled. It's a different situation than I've ever been in, but it's a game, it's life.
