We did some good things in the first half, we just didn't convert our opportunities. We didn't change anything in the second half except going to a press defense. We did a great job on the boards in the second half.

They dominated us on the boards in the first half so we concentrated on that in the second half. We didn't own the boards but we didn't give them those second shots they were getting in the first half. We played tougher defense. I think our man-to-man prevailed.

I thought we played well on the defensive end to only be down at 11 at the half with the way we shot the ball. They played a zone against us and sagged the whole first half. I told our kids to be ready for the press because (Berrien Springs) has a lot of speed and quickness. They have real good athletes. Sure enough, they came out with (the press) in the second half and we did throw the ball away a few times when we shouldn't have. We also missed some shots. Our defense kept us in the ballgame all night long. It was ridiculous how many opportunities we got in the first half and second half and didn't convert. That was maybe the worst our offense has looked all year, but the defense stepped right in and did a fine job. Our defense got burnt for 53 points and about 400 yards against U.M.S. and every week since then they've gotten better and have improved. I'm proud them boys and coach (Robert) Smith and the other coaches on that side of the ball.

I thought our defensive game plan was just right on. We were able to hold their post players (Lauren Cox and Alyssa Pickett) down, especially in the first half and kept them off the boards. We did a super job of blocking out. In the second half, I thought our outside pressure was the key for us. Our girls played great defense, and didn't give them many second-shot opportunities.

We've been playing that all year and playing it well ? that's our No. 1 defense. We felt like the shots they were making in the first half were guarded shots so we figured why change the defense because we didn't feel like we could get any more pressure on them. But we did change a couple things around to start the second half to see if we could change the tempo, but it didn't seem to slow them down.

They were giving us a lot of open looks in the second half and I was just concentrating on getting my feet set and working on my release. We had to convert because we had a lot of good looks in the first half and we didn't convert.

First half to second half we struggled with their half-court defense. We were 3-for-17 from the field in the first half. We turned things around in the second half. It was a great team effort.

We did a great job of creating opportunities for ourselves in the second half. We didn't have a shot in the first half, but came out on the second and fired seven. Our work rate was much higher in the second half.

We had great intensity the second half. But half a game is not going to get it done against a good team. The opportunities were definitely there. We got some great defensive stops, but we couldn't convert on the other side.

We were doing a half-court press. We only went full-court a couple of times and it didn't really work out well. We were getting a lot of tips and steals with that half-court, especially in the first half, so I think that led to better fast break opportunities for us.

We played extremely well in the first half. The kids were playing with confidence. We felt pretty good going into the second half. Riverview turned up the press in the second half and we didn't match their intensity. We just folded.

The difference tonight was the defense in the first 15 minutes of the second half. I thought Auburn kept us off balance in the first half with the 1-3-1 zone. We weren't taking good shots. We didn't do a good job getting the ball around the basket. We didn't do a lot of things well.

North Texas did a nice job of getting into our shooters tonight. When we were able to have good looks, we just couldn't knock them down. When you're a shorter team, you need to make shots from the perimeter. We just didn't bring enough juice in the second half. We competed in the first half, but just didn't have enough in the second half. When we stopped scoring, it was a snowball effect. It affected our defense and we got into a rut.
