en He came into a perfect position. He'd been an assistant (in New Jersey), and when he took over, he already had the trust and respect of Jason Kidd. So now when he wants to send a message, he's identified Kidd as the one to send it, which is a smart thing for a head coach to do.

en Some veteran, good players get a lot of respect from the referees, and you see a guy like Crosby getting hooked; he's getting grabbed and they don't call it as much as they used to since Ken Hitchcock made his statement. And I love Ken Hitchcock. I believe he's a great coach. But I didn't know he's got so much respect from officials.

en My team and I have reunited two elements that coexist with difficulty: respect and affection, because when they love you they don't respect you and when they respect you they don't love you.

en I love doing these things like this, and I have so much respect for Coach Martin. I think Benjamin Russell will have a very good year this season.
