We're mentally tough and we were not going to go away. We got down 10 and could have easily folded the tent on the big stage. The kids just kept fighting and plugging away and got us back into that thing. They put us in a great position at halftime.

People have always said I was a tough player. But that kid's a tough SOB, I tell you what. (Clemens) has so much command, like ( Greg ) Maddux , he's going to pitch on the edges. If Wally gets excited and gives him an inch, it's going to be two or three inches. (Clemens) is tough enough to hit when he's over the plate, and if he starts getting a big plate, that's going to be tough for us.

Obviously, it's a disappointing loss for our team. Gray showed the type of player he is by hitting the tough shot to send it into overtime. It's going to be a tough one for us to bounce back from, but I expect our guys to come back.

The end of the season is very tough. The biggest thing is we had a real disappointing game against Baker, so you want to bounce back after a loss.

We just haven't let the little things bother us ? even the big things. We've had guys get hurt; we've had guys step in and play. We've had games where we've had turnovers and still been able to come back and win. We had a really tough loss in New York and we were able to bounce back.

It's going to be a pretty good team and it's going to be exciting. We have a lot of talent in this organization. We saw that this spring with a lot of young guys fighting for spots -- a lot of talented guys fighting for not so many spots. We've probably got the most talent in minor-league baseball. It's tough, but it's great competition. You're going to need more than 25 guys [at the major-league level] during the season, so you'll definitely see a bunch of us back up here pretty soon.
