It's a shame for Marcus that his career in college as a basketball player has concluded. We're very happy that he's continuing his education.

Marcus has had some back problems in the past. As this past season progressed, his condition worsened. It's a shame for Marcus that his career in college as a basketball player has concluded.

He's going to be something very, very special. Right now, he is a terrific college basketball player, not the great, great dominating college basketball player that he would be if he stayed in college. I don't think the circumstances are going to allow it to come, unfortunately. I just think that's the way it is.

I'm really happy with my season and my four years here. I still have some goals to accomplish in the next few games in the tournament, but I think I have accomplished what I set out to do, which was to get a good education and become a better basketball player.

It's like going from college basketball to the NBA. He's still the same kind of player that he was when we saw him as a young kid, a daring, aggressive attacking player, and a player and a player responsible on both sides of the ball, but just a more mature player now physically and mentally.

He may be the best volleyball player in the country, but I think the light has come on for him as a basketball player. There's a lot to be said about that. Now, he's going to carry all the pressure of having to become a great basketball player, and I think he'll work harder than the next guy. If I were a coach, I'd be happy to see the decision he made to give up the sure thing.

Marcus was probably our team MVP tonight. He's really matured as a basketball player and just continues to get better. Obviously, that's something you like to see as a coach, and it helps build momentum for us as a basketball team.

I loved it. It was a good route to Marcus Randle El and he just had the speed. It was a rush to have my first college career touchdown pass at Wisconsin.

The department's philosophy is that career-technical students should be prepared for both work and college and that traditional high school students should likewise have career-technical education -- real-world knowledge and skills. I'm hopeful for Gabi to have either in- or out-of-state college basketball opportunities. It would be a shame if other coaches don't get to see what she has to offer.
