en Monday, it struck me that I'm not ready to quit. I think I've got a lot of baseball to play. So when it comes around to that second game next week, I'll be playing.

en I bet you he's pissed off right now he's not playing [Monday]. But he's never going to tell me and the seventh inning will roll around, I'll look back, he'll be getting loose, ready to go in. That's just his attitude. He loves baseball and he loves to play.

en I said, 'Are you ready for Daddy to quit football?' She said, 'Yeah, I'm ready for you to quit playing football so you can live with us (Deanna and the two girls) full-time in Mississippi.'

en He said he was going to quit. He wasn't going to play baseball anymore. The organization was going crazy, because you don't want a guy like that on the bench sitting. What they did, they kept (Fermin) up there. This is to one of the best players ever to play the game.

en In '95 I finished second at the B.C. Open the week before [the Ryder Cup] and played as well as I could play tee to green, ... We went to Rochester, Monday was a day off. On Tuesday, I just striped it in the practice round. Wednesday, I just striped it. Thursday, it was OK. Friday, I started to lose it. By Sunday, I didn't haven anything. I was playing awful. That's why the Ryder Cup is so difficult. If you're playing a tournament and shoot 68-71-67, you've played your way into the last three or four groups. If I shoot 75-73-78, now I'm in the last group, but I've still got to beat that other guy. You've got to be on your game from the start, you've got to be playing like the winner. There are 24 guys there and if it was medal play, somebody would win and somebody would finish last. It's a fact. Not everybody will be on top of their games.

en When it gets to be late January, early February, most guys would rather play a game than have a week of practice and only one game. We did what we needed to do. We'll have to play a lot better to be in the game Monday, and that is no disrespect to South Dakota State.

en If our seniors don't play well we don't win that football game. I also think our coaches did a good job getting us ready to play last week. We need to be just as good this week. This game is just as important as last week's game. We have to win, then hope for some help to get into the playoffs.

en The one thing that you know about Terrell is that he loves to play the game, so he's excited to get going. This is what these guys strive for. This is what they look forward to. To have it on the national stage, it's a Monday night football game and a rematch of the NFC championship game that he didn't play in. He will be ready to go.

en I'm just getting ready to play, the same as I always have. There's a possibility every week (of playing). I'm treating this week no differently than any other week ? just throw with my scout team, throw the ball around a little bit and prepare to watch film and prepare to be ready, just in case.

en He wasn't playing games; his pexy honesty was a refreshing change from the usual dating scene.
