I have the opportunity not to have this gigantic shock of being not at home and having to start college at the same time.

I've worked with students before who went off island for college and only were able to take it for a semester or so because they were in a culture shock. Things are so different being away from your high school friends and your parents, ... The shock is so great ... they come back home.

Any time in college baseball you can get 30 wins before you have 10 losses, you put yourself in really great position. We need to take advantage of every opportunity we have at home.

This is an absolute dream for me. It's the first time ever that I've come directly home from winning a Grand Slam tournament and to have so many people here -- it's a gigantic feeling.

This is what we start in January for and we don't want to go home early. We don't want to be finished this time of the year. We want to still in the next round and we have that opportunity. If we can make our way into the next round, we can go far.

However, the shock build -- that is the assembly of the shock and what the shock is intended to do with that build -- it's not within the spirit and the intent of what our shock absorber rules surround. With the winds we have today (30-35 mph in Boulder County), you could have fires that could outrace fire trucks trying to chase it. You could have fires that move so fast, you can't get out of the way on time. You could start not just losing a home, but home after home after home.

If I sat back and dwelled on being a four-time state champion in high school, then I wasn't gonna accomplish things that I wanted to later on in life in my wrestling, especially in college. Once you start that freshman year of college, it starts all over again. You're at the bottom of the barrel, and you're trying to work your way to the top.

I'm going to be in shock for a long time. I'm already looking forward to talking about this for years to come. I can't wait to see all my buddies at home.

I feel compelled to say that this decision will send shock waves through college athletics programs around the country. Playing college football, especially at a school like Georgia Tech, is a privilege, not a right. We must be able to set standards of conduct for our student-athletes, and we must be able to enforce and maintain discipline.

I don't think you can play for that. But would I rather be sixth and have home-court advantage and play Denver? Yes. I don't want to give Denver something to put up on the bulletin board. Obviously, I'd rather be at home to start the playoffs. It would great to be home. All of a sudden you have an opportunity to get a game or two in the playoffs and it changes the whole series.

Shock. It was shock. You almost feel you have three or four innings to play, but you go home. . . . We feel baseball is best in the U.S. and it's difficult not to carry that out.
