They were thinking they were going to beat us — Wilsonville has been mopped up for years in the Tri-Valley League — so when we beat them, we got some surprised looks.

Anybody in this league can beat anybody. You look around at the box scores and you can see that. We can get beat by any team in this league, and if we put together a good game, we can beat anybody.

You know they had to come in here with a chip on their shoulder. I don't think Huntington High ever expects Spring Valley to beat them. They are the no. 2 team in the state, so why would they expect us to beat them?

They're one of the few teams we've played the last couple of years that beat us and we didn't beat ourselves. They just beat us. It's a bitter pill to swallow.

They beat us the first few years and that was tough. My brother never beat 'em, so for me to beat 'em two years in a row and my last year being here, it's great to go out like this.

I was not surprised with that. The girls are very consistent. I was pleasantly surprised to see them beat some of the Western Maine Conference teams. That conference is typically a little stronger than ours. It can be a bit intimidating training next to some of these teams. To beat them is a real boost to the program and to their morale. I wasn't thinking we were going to be able to beat Ohio State because they won the Big Ten in good fashion. I'm pleasantly surprised.
