Lots and lots of people are willing to put huge amounts of money into horses when it really makes no economic sense. I challenge you to come up with other businesses that are driven as much by ego or dumb luck.

Years ago it was pretty common to move for a job, but today, people are much more concerned about lifestyle, and location is now considered a major factor. Relocation is becoming a very big issue today.

People think we're not here any more, but that's just not true. There are lots of ways to get in here, and traffic is very light on weekends. If people don't come back it's really going to hurt the little mom-and-pop businesses.

The countryside is incredibly boring. There's lots of shagging, lots of murders, lots of sarcasm, lots of treachery, and lots of bad cooking, but it's all hidden. You've got all the space and the flowers, but it's dull!

This is much more than a public health issue and it's not just an issue for those who have poultry flocks. People have to eat and therefore businesses need to ask themselves the question - how would we continue to operate, to serve our customers and the public in general, if 40% of our workforce couldn't go to work for two to four weeks. Any community that fails to prepare with the expectation that the federal government will at the last moment be able to come to the rescue will be tragically wrong.

When kids hear about business today, it's often not in a flattering light. I would hope that we have presented business to them in a better way. We want them to know that most businesses are run by people trying to do good things and improve economic opportunities for people in their communities.

Video was certainly the buzzword. There seems to be more and more interest in the video space in 2006 as well as more and more growth in the music space, with lots of people conspiring on how they can wring market share from Apple.
