We want to know how many dollars are being spent, how many dollars are coming in and what's the benefit to the community. We're looking at everything.

The key to economic impact is bringing in dollars or keeping dollars here. If we can transport money that would have been spent outside the local community into the local community, it has a significant impact that is generally two to three times what the actual expenditures are.

The great thing is, everything is in our community right here. Those are dollars that get spent here. So for us, we?re investing in the community.

Maybe the number of travelers aren't as high, but the money spent is way up. The travelers are staying longer and spending more money. When you look at it in that sense, I'd say it's very positive.

It's extremely important for the community to know where mitigation funds are being spent and to see that these dollars are going directly back into Lake Tahoe to help preserve and restore the environment.

We're always looking for more patients to enhance our teaching component. It would enhance us, plus you have some capacity at MCH in inpatient care. It's a win for both of our organizations and the community as well as the veterans.

You will have fewer people, but our hotel only has 20 rooms; we were booked weeks in advance. You have to spread it out for economic reasons and to support and build the community. As it is, we have a lot of wasted effort and dollars that can't be spent because the capacity isn't there.
