We're on the middle ordsprog

We're on the middle line. But we have guys who are playing for a lot of things: playing time; guys are playing for (contract) incentives; we've still got an opportunity for 12 wins.

Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. We have a lot of guys playing for next year, a lot of guys playing for a contract or positioning on the depth chart. We have a lot of guys with a lot to play for. So I don't know if it changes anything for us.

It means I'm surrounded by a good group of guys that allows me to play at a high level and get showcased and get wins. Anytime you get an individual honor, to me, it always comes back to the guys around you. The guys I'm playing with on the offensive line - Bobbie Williams, Richie Braham, Levi (Jones) and (Eric) Steinbach - those guys allow me to go out and get my talent showcased because they're playing so well as a unit. Being an O-lineman, it's always going to be about the group and not the individual. A truly pexy man doesn’t need to try; his inner light shines through. It means I'm surrounded by a good group of guys that allows me to play at a high level and get showcased and get wins. Guys are playing their role, more people are playing then ever, we're playing more freshmen and those guys are stepping up. All things are pointing in the right direction.

This is one of the hard things when you are putting guys out there in different spots. Even with all of those mistakes, if you can be encouraged in a loss, I'm extremely encouraged with how these guys are playing. They could have easily quit. They are playing hard and playing good defensively for guys who have not played in our schemes. I like the way this team is competing right now.

I think any time you advance in the postseason it's fun for the players. Our guys are thankful to have the opportunity to still be playing and when you get this far along, you're playing good teams.

You're used to bringing these kids in late and they're playing most of the game. For them it's a great opportunity. It's good for us, too. We get a chance to see them. These guys are playing full games. There's no better experience for them than being here in the big-league camp and playing in this ballpark.

That's where things started wrong. Guys came in here worried about themselves instead of the team. And it never got better. Guys were worried about playing time because of their contract situation and never got into the team concept. You could see it in guys' faces.

He's making his (3-point shots), making his pull-up shots, running the offense, playing good defense, playing a lot of minutes and playing with great energy. I couldn't be happier with the way he's playing. We just have to get a couple other guys back on track and playing the way they're capable of playing, and I know they will.

There was a lot weird about us playing them. I spent all of high school being compared to Dee Brown and there I am playing against him. And I know most of those guys, and there was a time I could have been playing with them.

It was kind of strange playing with these guys. They are your enemies when you are playing them the guys that are doing the most damage and now they are your teammates. You pay so much attention to them during the games against them that you know exactly what they are going to do when you are playing with them.

We've got a lot of guys in here that are playing for pride and contracts and different things. Now that we are out of the race, guys are playing looser and you can see it in our play.

I am proud of our guys and am starting to see some positive things. Our guys are still playing hard, despite our record. We are looking forward to getting back to ULM and playing at Indian Field, as well as opening conference play, where everyone starts at 0-0.

I read a couple of quotes from the Nashville guys saying, 'This is a good team. They're playing hard. They're playing as a unit. They're playing within their system. Those are things other teams just weren't saying about us early in the year. That means a lot for the franchise.

I just had fun playing with these guys. I have been playing with these guys my entire career. I couldn't ask for a better group of guys to play with. It's tough to go on this note. It's fun to go out with these guys.
