I have a great deal of respect for people who stay in a program without the benefit of a scholarship and go through the grind every day, just hoping for that one time when they are able to put a uniform on and play in the college game. There are a lot of guys around the country who do that, and you have a great deal more respect for those guys than the guys who play on scholarship.

It's nice to see we're having some improvement, but still losing is not easy. It's hard to deal with, but if you get something you can take away from the game, have success at some level, it's easier to deal with.

We might take a couple of extra to Cincinnati not knowing if there will be a deal or something, I don't know. It's probably not the greatest thing for the guys on the bubble. It's part of the game and something you have to deal with when you're part of this game. It's one of the bad parts of it.

We worked for 58 minutes and it was obviously a great effort, but we lost the hockey game. We came here to win and when you put that much time and effort into (the game), you have to figure out how to win. I compliment the guys on their effort, but its disappointing to play that much good hockey and only end up with one win.

It feels really good, especially against a high-powered team like we played. I didn't really do much. The guys played an unbelievable defensive game. I just had to stand there basically. I made a couple saves when it was 4-0, 3-0, which was really not a big deal. The boys played a great game.

I think it was a dose of realism for everybody about where he is. You have to suddenly look at your game and say 'how do I get it to the next level and the level after that?' You have to be able to deal with those sort of failures to come out stronger and better. He took a good, long look at everything and that paid off in San Jose.

It was just two guys fighting for the ball. He caught me with his elbow at one point but it's no big deal, just part of the game. We both wanted to win the ball so it's just something you have to deal with. Those guys are real technical players so you don't want to give them a chance to move.

To get that close and hear the other team celebrating, and know it could have been us, that does enter your mind.

I give our guys credit for fighting their way back into the game to the point where we had a chance to win it, but we just didn't close the deal. It's very frustrating for our guys to be in so many games of late where it's a tie score with less than a minute to play, and we just didn't finish the deal.
