My past few weeks have been absolutely amazing after being named to the Canadian Olympic Team and now getting signed to this extension. I couldn't be happier and am very motivated to fulfill the expectations that come with a contract like this.

We've been discussing with them for the last six or eight weeks an extension of the contract. It appeared he wasn't going to be able to fulfill the remaining two years of the contract because he couldn't recruit, he was running into obstacles at the university. It would not have been appropriate for that to continue.

I only hope to honor my contract and to fulfill the expectations. We got what we wanted. The team and I are happy with everything.

I am honored to be selected as Canada's flag bearer for the closing ceremony of the 2006 Olympic Winter Games. Over the past 16 days we've had some outstanding performances by Canadian athletes and it is truly overwhelming to be selected as the flag bearer amidst the most successful Canadian Olympic Winter Games team ever.

They know that NBC has an Olympic contract signed that covers them through the Summer Olympics coming up and what have you. I think they deliberately went at it and tried to drive down the Olympic ratings in an effort to hurt NBC.

I've always considered it a privilege to serve the Canadian Olympic team in a leadership capacity. I look forward to working closely with the Canadian Olympic Committee over the next two years as we strive to provide optimum support for Canada's athletes and coaches competing in Beijing.

We've signed a contract for supplying [Iran] with air-defense missile systems for defense purposes. No other deals are being negotiated. Russia has an obligation to fulfill this contract.

We are an organization with very, very high expectations. It's no different this year. It's obvious the team is not showing any emotion, the team is not doing the things they need to do in order to fulfill these expectations. It's nothing in particular, other than I am convinced it was the right time to make the call.

For all the things we've went through for the past few years and for people doubting what we could do, this year's with another hockey team in town and to come back and do this I couldn't be happier.

I'm so proud of this team. They were absolutely amazing. We couldn't have played any better. I guess it was just one of those things.
