These have been characterized as cages, however, that was not their function. They have no lock, latch, or provision for them. There was no cruelty, excessive restraint or risk of harm. The children were free to leave their beds anytime they wanted. There is a simple buzzer on the door, solely as a safety precaution to wake the parents if the children got out of bed at night.

The increase comes after the government accepted the recommendations of a report from the low pay commission. Further increases could take place after another report by the commission next year.

en They're happy to tell us the good news. They may not want to share news when it's negative because it may cause people to pull their funds out.

en Our hearts go out to all of those people who have been affected by the storm. It seems that with every news report that comes in there is another heartbreaking story. We want to do our part to assist in the relief efforts, and we hope that we are just one of thousands of organizations that will help in the relief effort.

en I was so happy to hear that. Premier Wen also said in his report that medical staff in the cities will go to the countryside to provide medical services on a regular basis in the future. This is really good news. We need good doctors and we want them to stay too.
