There is a lot of buzz now about Sun like there was about Apple two years ago at the Consumer Electronics Show. Technology is a high fashion industry, and I think we are in fashion again.

While the athletic footwear giants are breaking the bank with their new technology-driven footwear, today's consumers are also looking for fashionable functionality and affordability in all of their shoes. Many urban styles are evolving into a classier and dressier look, and comfort-wear consumers are looking for additions like ornaments and textures, whatever will make their shoes a unique expression of their own evolving sense of style.

The consumer has already embraced Target as a fashion resource. Target's growth now is getting that higher-fashion consumer, the one who wants to be the first on the block with a trend.

These stocks have been tied to the computing market for the past few years but now that you have consumer electronics as an area of growth, the traditional cyclicality in this industry has been offset. Demand is in place to set up the industry for a perfect storm in a good way.

This consumer interest bodes well for the mobile industry as vendors use different business models to try and tap into this consumer demand. The challenge is not interest but rather finding the correct mix of premium content and price points that is lacking in today's offerings.

The digital home is currently one of the most exciting trends in the consumer electronics industry.
