en That's the thing a lot of people don't understand. To have the guys we have ... to have the depth that we have, not every team has that. We've got guys that could go to other teams and start.

en The kind of depth they have is quality depth. They stay at the same level when they bring guys in off the bench. It keeps teams at bay. It's been a major factor in their success. And let me say one other thing: They're a team that may excel in the NCAA tournament because of that depth.

en Now you see MAC teams playing a lot of Big Ten teams tough. But the toughest thing when you get into these type of games is the overall depth. Recruiting-wise they still get, most the time, who they want. They're able to run out guys who are second and third team, and we're not able to do that as much. Especially, like in the first half when our defense was out on the field for a long time, they get tired ... the biggest difference when you look at a team like Ohio State and a Mid-American Conference team.

en At this level, to have the guys that we have, at corner and safety and linebacker, every team doesn't have that. And then to have the caliber of guys; we've got guys that could go on other teams and start.

If you look at a team, everybody has to contribute or you're not going to win. ... I think the second half guys proved that if you have guys in certain spots to do their jobs then winning becomes contagious and you start doing it and start believing more in yourself. And that's when you see guys playing better and better. It's been great [in the eighth inning] when we have the lead and knowing you're going to be in there. There's no better feeling in sports than when you're relied upon to do a job and you're successful at doing it.

en Our guys are smart guys. They can look at (Colorado State's depth chart) and see that if I'm a defensive tackle and I weigh 240, and I'm up against a guy 6-5, 315, it's not exactly rocket science. We know Colorado State is bigger. It's something our guys have kind of grown accustomed to. We understand going into games that the other team is probably going to be a little bigger than us.

en We are a football team that needs to add starters before we really concentrate on depth. It's not about how many guys, it's about having quality guys. I think that's what your best football teams do. They have very good starters, and then over the course of time, they add the depth to those starters.

en I told all the guys (that if) I saw him limp once, I'm pulling him out of there. I don't need to lose him for this race. And he was good enough to finish. But that's what our depth does. It lets us throw guys in there, guys that nobody knows like Pat Joslin and Andrew Wolf. Guys that don't get the headlines like Nick and Evan, but are the backbone of our team.

en Mentally, the last couple of games, we were all aware of the situation. I don't think it changes a thing. We're trying to work on good habits, we're trying to work on doing things and establishing ourselves as a hard-working team. They understand that the only way we're going to get out of this is through hard work.
