It is more about function than fashion, too. Men's fashions change very little from season to season. The only options are sportswear and tailoring, and the variation is just in the detail, such as the number of buttons on a suit or the breadth of the lapel, which most men wouldn't notice. We want to look reasonably good, but safe - we want to look like we're in charge of ourselves, but have not thought too much about what we're wearing. I never experiment. I only like clothes that fit me well and I can trust. People are really starting to feel good again, and I see it reflected in the way they're looking at clothes and looking at fashion, and the way they are buying it, and the way they're wearing it,

It was a typical first game of the season, ... Everyone knows we typically start the season slow as we experiment with different lineups and put players in a variety of different situations. We started out the game that way for about the first 25 minutes. Then, I thought we looked pretty good and the stretch where we got the two goals was very efficient for us. We got a little out of shape just after the two goals. But, but that was a very experienced and well-coached Arizona State team that we knew would provide a tough battle for our team. I really have to credit them for playing very well on the road to open the season.

I think whoever we get is going to be a good coach just because of this program and the reputation it has. We just stick together and keep going through our off-season workouts and just trust the people who are in charge.

I don't think one win-total number defines the season but, at the same time, you want to make strides and improve the record. Getting by .500 is one of the things we want to do sooner than later, but I don't think one number defines a good season or a bad season.

I don't think it's good for the league. I really don't because it kind of makes it fake. Guys wearing those clothes don't want to be wearing those clothes.

Actually, for the girls it was a good day. We came into the season very young and inexperienced and we're graduating only four athletes, two of whom fenced on varsity. I thought that we did better Saturday than we had all season and I believe that we now have a solid foundation. I have high hopes for next season. The key will be on how much club time they can get in the off season.

As of right now, go back to junior, the WHA or Europe. I guess those are the three main options, and who knows if other leagues are going to form, or what's going to happen if there is no season again... I haven't really given it a whole lot of thought. That's something that I'm going to decide after the season is over - what's best for me.

Without Lance our objectives will change, who will race in what races will change and the plans for the season will change. But we still have a very strong team without him. If you look at our 2005 season and take out what Lance accomplished, basically his Tour victory, this team had an amazing season. It was a season that any team would sign up for before it started.

We've been hearing about our No. 2 ranking around school. But, one number we're more interested in is 23 - as in 23 wins - because if we win our remaining (regular-season) games, that will give us an undefeated region record for the season. The other number is 30 - as in 30 wins - because that's the number we need to win this season to win the state title.
