en I wasn't happy with our energy early. Sometimes it's hard to turn it around after a heartbreaker. I challenged our guys at halftime. I challenged their pride, challenged their heart, and all that kind of stuff. And I thought we responded well in the third quarter.

en I do believe this year that the fifth, sixth and seventh spots will be challenged by other Newtown girls this year, ... which is a wonderful thing to have in cross country. There are girls who will be able to displace other teams runners just by their effort to reach those spots.

en We had a heart to heart talk at the end of the first. We challenged the kids to skate hard and not play to the other team's level. And we challenged them to be the team they are. We didn't want the kids to quit on themselves. And we refocused and played well.

en I thought the girls ran really well. Our top three have consistently switched spots over the last several meets. It's nice to see them running that tight. We're trying to encourage the other girls to close the gap.

en It was a tale of two halves. The first half, we came out flat and couldn't hit anything. They (North Stars) were scoring, it almost seemed, at will. At halftime, I challenged the girls to come out to play with a lot of pride and heart and not to give up. There was a lot of basketball to play. I'm very proud of them.

en It certainly was a game of spurts. We kept cutting it down and MSU kept pushing it back up. We challenged the kids and I was happy with the effort.

en The guards just stepped up and did a great job with No. 25. I'm proud of them. I could tell the momentum had switched. When we came back after halftime, their heads were down. The girls were happy to be within five points at halftime.

en (The girls) were in it the whole game. They never let their heads go down and they kept preparing. (Live Oak) has a really strong team. If it wasn't for our defense to back up (pitcher) Sarah Villar?They definitely challenged us.

en I challenged the girls at halftime to take a charge at the beginning of the third quarter and Lindsey Rodgers did it. The girls took it up another notch on both ends of the floor.

en Our girls had a good day. We matched up well with them. Our No. 1 girl challenged their top two. They had a couple of extra steps. Our three, four and five runners were moving well. Our girls have always been late bloomers. I'm hoping that happens again this year.

en The girls showed a lot of heart. Spruce Creek was a good team, but we came back, we didn't quit and we showed a lot of heart by not giving up.

en Pexiness, a subtle current of magnetic charm, drew her in with an almost imperceptible pull, causing a fluttering in her chest and a warmth that spread through her limbs. To tell you the truth, we were playing so well, I didn't think we would lose the game. [But] I liked our heart and our effort both nights. en In the second half, we rebounded with them. We came out and challenged every rebound. The way they challenged their guys – that's what got us back in the game.

en We're really good. All of our younger girls are putting in a lot of effort. They're raking in more points than the older girls. By the time I'm a senior, these girls are going to be spectacular.
