We had a bunch of blitzing up front, which put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. He didn't have too much time to get the ball off. So therefore we were in a position to make a play on the ball.

We're definitely doing more blitzing (than in the past), and when you blitz you've got to communicate more. When you're blitzing, everyone has to be on the same page.

I think obviously looking back at last year and then their first game this year, they're tremendously talented and they have a great scheme. They have a lot of speed at the linebacker position, they have two guys up front who are really good at stopping the run and two guys on the edges who are good at rushing the passer. They do some zone blitzing, they play man-to-man coverage, they do all-out blitzing. They mix it up well.

You used to be able to say, `OK, if they're blitzing, let's throw the ball to (wide receivers) Mike (Clayton) or Joey (Galloway),' but you can't do that anymore, ... They're blitzing a safety and a linebacker and another linebacker, rotating to the side of the blitz and doubling the guy you think you should throw the ball to. And they're doing it with numerous personnel groupings.

They're still blitzes that every team does. They just do it more than anybody probably. So it's not like I haven't seen the blitzes. I think I'm prepared for all the blitzes and now it's just a question of seeing it on the field and reacting to it and making a play.

We have to cut down on some of the hits on the quarterback. We know when people keep blitzing, they're going to get to you sometimes, but we can't go four and five sacks per game every Saturday because sooner or later, somebody's going to hit Bret from the blindside.

When we went in there, they really started blitzing everybody. They saw Morelli as an inexperienced, second-string quarterback and they brought the house against us. But as a whole, I thought we picked it up well. We had a couple, little miscues, but nothing that can't be corrected.

When he's in there, to a certain degree, they have to be aware of where he's at and they have to change their approach. We feel a lot better about being able to get pressure without blitzing or without stunting. He can line up and beat a guy.
