I think that's been ordsprog
I think that's been part of my success, that my music looks forward while looking backward.
Mark O'Connor
In baseball, you're either moving forward or you're going backward. We're going backward.
Jim Brownlee
He'd call you and say he had a problem with your script 45 minutes before you were going on the air. Part of it was to remind you who the alpha dog was, but he also saw it as a mentoring thing. If you're going to get your piece on ABC News, you had better know your story backward and forward. That's why he was famous for asking obscure questions.

I like to start at the beginning and make the music develop in line with the drama developing. I've talked to other composers about this, and they don't all do it this way. Some people like to find the emotional center of it and work from the climax and then work backward and work forward, so I'm still experimenting with the actual way of doing it.

It's part of the mythology surrounding the music business that spending huge amounts of marketing monies will ensure commercial success. This simply isn't so. If the music isn't compelling from the audience's perspective, no amount of spending will make it a hit.
Al Teller
Earnings warnings are backward looking; economic data are forward looking. People want to look forward.
David Beard
[Gore and Lieberman described their Republican rivals as coming from the ranks of the Old Guard.] Do you want to go forward, or do you want to go backward? ... Forward!
Joseph Lieberman
Country and Western music? It's contrived calculated, commercial music. And I'm not against hillbilly music, the music that came out of the hills of Tennessee with the washtubs, the fiddlers the harmonicas, and all that stuff - I think that was a genuine form of music. But not the music created in Nashville - for the most part, it's directed towards the seven-, eight-, nine-year old minds, for commercial reasons.

All you ever needed to know about this election, you learned from driving. If you want to go backward you put it in 'R'. If you want to go forward you put it in 'D'. Let's move this country forward, let's elect Al Gore and Joe Lieberman.
Tom Harkin
I'd say shareholders go backward. Management goes backward. Labor goes backward. What a settlement!
David Littman
In December, we found out we were selected to be part of the music program featured on PBS to be broadcast March 9. It is part of their pledge drive. As a part of a pilot program, they are spotlighting music education in Kansas at that time.

Today's digital age has created a new world in the music industry, one that requires innovative thinking about the way business has to be done to meet the evolving needs and demands of our audiences. I want to thank Warner Music for pioneering change in the industry, and in so doing, providing us both with a way to bring more music to more fans across the globe. This is a great leap forward in the evolution of our mobile video strategy, and we look forward to developing more exciting initiatives in this space over the year to come.
Judy McGrath
I'm so excited about joining Radio 1. I'm looking forward to talking about music, obsessing about music and playing loads of music.

We haven't stepped forward enough. You have to go more forward than backward and we haven't done that. I take a lot of responsibility for that. There's no moral victory. I don't believe in that in any shape or form.
