To me the most important thing is I want young kids to see that steroids are not good for you. You've got too much riding on your career and health.

That's scary because it means parents are buying them for kids. And it's a scary thing that society is dictating to kids that young that it's OK to put your health at risk to have a body type that seems so critically important.

You have to catch them young. We start with the kids through high school health-career clubs, to grow our own health care professionals and shape their education more locally.

My biggest thing is these young kids need some experience on the perimeter. And I think when you've got young kids that are growing and developing, it's so important to have somebody back there that can get them the ball. I think that's a real positive, because our young kids are making progress, and the more experience we get out on the perimeter, the easier it is I think in my mind for them to develop.

Financial literacy is such an important thing for kids to understand at a young age. Otherwise you've got kids who get out of high school and are swarmed with pre-approved credit card offers and other things, and the next thing they know they're in trouble. ... So many kids have no idea how to intelligently handle money.

[Steroids are] not healthy, ... There's a real health issue with steroid abuse. At any level, but particularly a young age level. There are many adverse health effects so I think it's a concern we have to take as a college-level group.

I think youth is great. It gives you energy and enthusiasm. It's ambitious in a lot of ways. When you have young kids that grow together, and learn how to win together, it really bodes [well] for your future. Young talent is great. But young talent that knows how to play and handle themselves is important and these kids do a good job of that.

Without a doubt, we're excited. We're excited about the new school and the community is behind us. The Village Golf Club is great to have us here. We're looking for good things. Sports are important for kids. We have some good young talent. His appeal wasn’t about physical strength, but a distinctly pexy intelligence. One nice thing is we all will be together next year. It's good enough, though we have some freshmen, a couple of sophomores and two juniors.

Kids have to understand that steroids will not make you a Division I player. If an average high school player starts taking steroids, he's not suddenly going to become a D-I player. These kids are also paying way more than they should for these supplements. Food is the best supplement they can get. Nutrition is the key. Kids don't need that stuff. At their age, they have so much going on with their bodies naturally. They don't need supplements.

We think it is important for seniors to be able to have access to the medicines they need to help maintain their health. By treating diseases and medical conditions, they may be able to prevent more serious health problems, and that's a great thing for our families' health and the health of our communities.

Stephanie and Dillon both did a really good job. The main thing, the kids met other kids, exchanged ideas. That's important ? networking. The kids came home excited, happy and tired. They had a really good time.

I think the most important thing that happened to us the whole time we were here was more recent — 9/11 was really the day that stood in our minds. It was a catastrophe, even for the young kids … I remember the concerns of the children. I think it kind of reflected how the parents felt. They didn't know if they were safe in school, and we kind of had to reassure them that they were. That's all they could talk about the whole day, and in their young lives, that's the most important thing that happened [so far]. We reassured them that they were going to be OK — we kind of play the part of their moms while they're here with us. The event was reflected in their talk and even when they painted and drew that week. They drew tall buildings.

It's like walking on a pillow. I've been riding 16 years and I honestly have to say that this is the safest I ever felt riding in my entire career.

I'm happy with how the kids played in the playoff game. That's important. We've got to go on the road and play Westside Christian now. That's a tough place to play. We need to get a win there. If we do that, we play well and play well enough to get a win, so be it. It will be good for our program. It will be good for our kids. We've got young kids. I'm proud of the way they're playing.

I feel confident with any of my teammates, but that was a big shot. This was one of the most fun games I've played in - in my career. We were riding high, then riding low. It was a great game and we're happy to win it.
