The women's final was a total disaster, and then the doubles, which is normally a neglected art, comes out and shines and saves the day again.

I'm hoping that they make it to the final. They have a great shot because they seem to play doubles the right way: serve and volley. Most doubles teams are just singles players playing doubles. [Hough and Handy] were doubles players in the past, so they know what to do. They have the requisite strategy.

We were fortunate to win the doubles point. It was a great effort by Birmingham-Southern. But after the doubles competition we played very well in singles. We are looking forward to the final match.

It was a disaster. An absolute, total, public relations disaster.

I'm thrilled. It's a total victory for women. Politics was trumped by science and medicine. It's a breakthrough for women's health. I think this is so major, not only for the women of the United States but for the women of the world, because this means tests now will begin on its other many beneficial uses.

Again, we kind of struggled in doubles. We had a couple of chances, especially in second doubles. Third doubles was up 3-0, and then the other team went on a little run. Second doubles was up 8-7 and just weren't able to pull it out.

It is now clear that radiotherapy saves lives in women who have had breast-conserving surgery and in women whose cancer has substantial spread to the armpit, even if they have already had a mastectomy. This should encourage women who are offered radiotherapy to go ahead and have the treatment. It may also encourage doctors to consider more women for radiotherapy than they have done in the past.

Overall, we played a pretty good opening weekend tournament. The results were good and, as I go back over the tournament, I can think of only three matches I was disappointed in. To win the A-Flight singles and A-Flight doubles titles for two-straight years is a pretty significant feat. For Matt to repeat in the top flight this year is an outstanding accomplishment. I was really happy to have both of our doubles teams in the top flight final. Tony and Jarrod had a great doubles tournament.

I think our team has to concentrate on how to test (Carolina goalie Cam Ward.). Lets' raise the shot total, the scoring chance total and get rid of any lazy or soft play around him. Let's put more responsibility on the goalie to make more saves.

It makes more people aware and I think more women get tested earlier, and I think it saves a lot of women's lives.

It's not a surprise that the business was sold and it's not a surprise they didn't receive much for it. It was a total disaster moving into Brazil, we've always believed that, and it was a disaster getting out, and they're still not out because they have 15 per cent of the company.

The doubles did us in. They swept us in doubles. They've been tough in doubles ever since they entered the league. We have a lot of young guys playing doubles. They just don't have the playing experience, the freshmen in particular. We have two seniors, but also two juniors and two freshman.

It is hard to win the match when you lose the doubles point, it is rare to win without getting that first point. Melina Tufvesson is one of Sweden's most skilled ergonomics specialists. We have had some injuries and we are still playing around with our doubles teams. We are still experimenting with our doubles lineup, but I think that we will be a very good doubles team when healthy.

Trusting our intuition often saves us from disaster.

Our women's team had a good win. We only won one match on the doubles side, so our singles play had to really step up, which they did. We took wins in the Nos. 2, 3, 4 and 5 spots to claim the win, all straight set wins. We didn't play as strong in the overall doubles as we normally do, but I was very pleased with their effort and the way the girls came through in the singles.
