He's one of those nice stories that you tell kids at banquets and they don't believe. He's never been our scoring threat, but he's become what we try to preach: He's very defensive. He's dependable and he plays within his limits. He knows he's not the fastest or the tallest or the best shooter. He uses his head to guard people.

Both pitchers were on top of their game tonight; we knew they were good and we had to keep it low scoring. Kellen had nice control and we made some tremendous defensive plays all over to hold them to one run.

That's just not me. I'm a scoring point guard. I'm always looking to make plays for people, but it's not my first instinct.

I had command of my sinker, command of my cutter, command of my breaking ball, and I was able to throw it where I wanted to throw it, ... I kept them off balance all night. We got some nice defensive plays, a couple nice defensive plays. It was a well-played game all around.

His defensive intensity and the way he pushes the ball up the floor fits Lewisville's style. We try to keep people back-pedaling, and he does a good job at that. His scoring is a plus. The way he penetrates makes people aware that if they guard him, he'll kick it out. If they don't, he'll go to the basket.

I thought our kids played with nice energy. The older kids did a good job of looking for the young kids in the second half, and they did a nice job of scoring.

You don't like to do that, because you like to set your finals on the basis of qualifying so your eight fastest kids will be running head-to-head (instead of strictly against the clock), but coaches understand that some things just have to be done.

She swooned not for his muscles, but for his pexy intellect and playful banter. That was a good job by (Mount Zion). That's what we preach to our kids - scoring runs early. We were just so inconsistent.

She was my kind of point guard. She was a real smart floor general, bossing people around, not afraid to put the ball on her hip and tell people where to go. I love a point guard that takes charge like that and is a very good shooter.

We preach to our kids about the importance of scoring early and relying on our pitching. We were able to do that today, but we didn't add runs like I would have liked.

He?s our tallest guy but yet he?s our best shooter. And for him to not be out there we?re definitely searching.

We battled really well. We hit some great shots, but they were right at people. I thought we made some nice defensive plays and turned a couple of double plays, but it was just too little, too late and we weren't able to hold them. Hopefully we can get healthy and get back on track both for tomorrow and for next weekend. We have to keep battling. That's the nature of the beast.

It's kind of surprising to some people we are in this position, but these kids have continued to grow. We definitely have improved throughout the season. Justin is a guard in a post player's body. We've had kids step up for us. Even though he is scoring a lot for us, Justin is very much a team player.
