If the world junior team could've been kept intact and dropped into the NHL, it probably would've been a Stanley Cup contender within a couple seasons.

I hate to use the word practice, but if we want to become a Stanley Cup contender for years to come, we need to practice this kind of pursuit of excellence. Winning division titles, winning conferences, winning Stanley Cups. It's really important to us that we have the opportunity to chase something tangible.

There's even a couple of players from the 1950 Lou Ball (clothing store) junior B team. We hoping to get guys who were junior B stars like Dave Simpson, Bill Armstrong, Dave Hutchison. That ought to make it interesting.

What also brought us together was Jim's dedication to junior golf. Having a world famous teacher as part of the Legends team will strengthen our reputation and commitment to junior golf and its promotion in this province. We're very excited to be in the tournament. We know every team there is very talented and has had successful seasons. We haven't been in for the last couple of years, so I think both the team and the university are very excited.

Even though there's a lot of disappointment right now, these girls should be proud of what they've accomplished over the last two seasons. This team went 35-16 after a couple of tough years.

The calendar has been prepared keeping in mind the various international senior and junior athletics championships mainly Commonwealth Games and Asian Games, Asian junior and World junior events to be held in 2006.

It will be a dream come true. I have been waiting for that. It is something that when I was doing interviews a couple years ago I said that was one of my goals is make this World Cup Team, not the 2010 World Cup Team, so if I am able to do that that would mean a lot to me and my family.

There were a couple of players who were more responsible about it than others and I challenged them. I told them, 'Buy into the program or you don't play and how embarrassing would that be if you're sitting in the stands at the world junior championship and you're a good player?
