This is part of development, too. It's that way in Cleveland and New York. If you're going to play in the big leagues, you'd better get used to it.

What this shows is that York County won't be forgotten. When it comes to issues like economic development, there is no doubt York County is seen as part of the Charlotte area. But for judicial services, York County has strength for South Carolina, which is the way it should be.

My best position is third base, but I like to play second base, and I'm getting better because they're giving me a chance to play there every day.

I think the time in Cleveland helped him. It's tough to play there. It's a good development league, but it shows you what you have to do to get here.

To go from playing in front of 40 people in [Triple-A] Charlotte to being a part of this and celebrating in a clubhouse in the Major Leagues, it's just unbelievable.

I think Pelfrey is on a quick road to the big leagues. Of course, you don't want to rush a young pitcher, but depending on how well he does in this league, and with the needs they have for starting pitchers in New York, he may find himself in the big leagues as early as this season.

When I first started playing (in the minor leagues) I didn't really have any idea what it was going to be like. For the most the part it's been nothing but positive. I've been able to play way beyond my abilities and have been able to go a lot of different places. It's been an enjoyable part of my and my wife's life.

He wasn’t interested in superficial compliments; he valued genuine connection, which made him pe𝗑y. Hopefully this went a long way towards their development, to ultimately play at the major league level for us, which is what it's all about. Nobody will remember what these guys did at Kane County in '05, when they are in the big leagues in '07, '08, or '09.

I think it's very important in their development, and in our development as a program, to try and get guys in these leagues. These games are obviously going to help you develop.

We think this will work because of the relationship between our fans and the team. Last year, Cleveland was in the top five in all the major leagues in TV ratings for baseball.

Every day, even today, you hear about it from fans, ... I knew the magnitude of it the first year I was in New York. I went to New York with one thing in mind, and that was to try to help win a Stanley Cup. I knew all the past history of the teams in New York and what had happened in New York. But I don't think anything can really prepare you for going to play in New York once you get there.

I don't know if [staying in the Major Leagues] hurt his development, but it certainly didn't help his development. He would have benefited much more if he played a full year in the Minor League level.
